Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for all site human resources (HR) activities including benefits, associate growth and development, associate relations and staffing, and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance. The HR Generalist interacts with all associates, PFG corporate office, PFG subsidiaries, and governmental and private agencies.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with recruiting, screening/interviewing, and hiring of prospective candidates. Ensure all administrative items are completed according to established guidelines ( i.e., I-9 forms, and employment applications).
  • Manage new hire orientations to include but not limited to benefits, policies and procedures, company history, and other pertinent information.
  • Function as an associate advocate by representing associates' issues to management as appropriate.
  • Facilitate associate relation issues. Work with the management team in resolving associate issues by investigating concerns and sharing resolution alternatives.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures to include effective communications with associates.
  • Assist in the training of management in the application of policies and procedures. Advise management of fair and consistent application of all approved policies and procedures.
  • Ensure benefits are explained to new associates and their enrollment is processed at the appropriate time. Encourage timely benefit elections and ensure necessary information is inputted into the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) in a timely manner.
  • Ensure fair pay practices for all associates. Assist with creating and maintaining job descriptions for all positions. Ensure job descriptions are reviewed between associates and respective managers/supervisors.
  • Maintain and ensure legal compliance of associate personnel files and HRIS database. Assist in maintaining the HRIS system.
  • Attend training as required and necessary.
  • Provide ad hoc reports as requested. Help maintain accurate information regarding annual HR reviews (e.g., new hire, disciplinary action, termination, etc.). Provide necessary reports, logs, files, etc. as requested during reviews.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary Range - $67,000 - $72,000
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
2 - 4 Years Human Resources, Business Administration or
related area
2 - 4 Years experience with employee relations and HR investigations
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree: Human Resources, Business Administration or related area
SHRM or relevant certifications
4 - 6 Years in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area within the food service industry.
Supervisory experience.
